As Family Photographer in Islamorada, it’s not too uncommon that clients reach out to me wanting to capture their families’ memories while they were in town vacationing. This particular family photoshoot took place at Sea Ranch Estate! My client, Kelly, was in town on vacation with her entire family. Her dad rented out Sea Ranch Estate because he wanted to get the whole family together to vacation while celebrating Mom’s 70th birthday! That’s when Kelly reached out to me. She wanted to have a family photoshoot in honor of her mom’s birthday while all the family was gathered and celebrating in the Florida Keys! I can’t think of a better way to honor mom on her birthday, can you?!
While Kelly really wanted to focus on capturing the magic of her mother’s birthday, the focus was really on their entire family being together and enjoying this moment. Kelly’s husband and her children were at the shoot as well as Kelly’s brother, his wife, and their children! And of course, Mom and Dad!
It really was such a fun session. I know most parents are concerned about bringing their children to a professional photoshoot. But I’ll let you in on my biggest secret. It has to be fun for the kids! So, I let them run around in the sand, be goofy, and show off their unique personalities. We made this session such a blast for the kids that they didn’t mind being in front of the camera one bit! And yes, if you’re having a family photoshoot in Islamorada, I always encourage kids to run around in the sand! The amount of joy it brings them is practically guaranteed to bring out the most cherished smiles. And those smiles are not something that can be staged or posed!
