Minette & Evan’s Cheeca Lodge Wedding at the Casitas was a beautifully intimate celebration of love!
My bride and groom had an elopement-style wedding at the Casitas at Cheeca Lodge. The Casitas are luxurious and spacious, a private one and two-bedroom houses with every amazing amenity that you could imagine! For, Minette & Evan, they took advantage of having the gorgeous views of the ocean outside their front door. Which is exactly where they held their ceremony! The cocktail hour and reception were held at Cheeca Lodge, later in the day. Which was just a short distance away from the ceremony. All of the bride and groom’s guests got to ride on golf carts to the celebration! Isn’t that such a fun touch?
Minette and Evan’s ceremony was a traditional Jewish wedding ceremony. We started the day with a first look between the bride and groom. After that, we were off for the signing of the ketubah (wedding contract) before heading outdoors to their oceanfront ceremony. The couple stood under a dreamy white floral chuppah where they exchanged vows and rings. Additionally, there was also a reading of the seven blessings. This is known as the Sheva Brachot. The blessings are to bring about a marriage that is full of love, joy, companionship, and celebration!

As is tradition, Minnette and Evan also drank wine out of two kiddush cups as a blessing was recited over the wine. The beautiful ceremony ended when Evan smashed the glass and a resounding “Mazel Tov” filled the air! Altogether, many of the aspects of a Jewish wedding ceremony are to show the couple’s reverence to God, and the new home they will build as they embark on this sacred union together. It’s all beautifully symbolic while being such a joy to witness!
After the bride and groom joined their family for cocktail hour, we finished up the day with some gorgeous sunset photos on the pier! One of my personal favorite parts of their day. The views from the pier are absolutely breathtaking and the wind danced through Minette’s gown!
