Key Largo Wedding Photographer – Your Guide to Weddings in the Upper Keys

November 24, 202

As a Key Largo wedding photographer based in Miami-Dade, I’m here all the time photographing couples who love this island vibe. It’s the first island you hit when you leave the mainland, just about an hour from Miami, and it’s the go-to escape when people want a quick getaway… fishing, fresh seafood, sunsets, all the good Keys energy. It’s relaxed but still feels elevated, which is why so many couples choose it for their wedding weekend.

Key Largo is also practically my backyard. Since I’m based in Miami-Dade County (Homestead), getting to the Keys is quick and easy for me, and there’s absolutely no travel fee for weddings in Key Largo. I’m down here often, and I love how it gives couples that tropical, relaxed feel without being far from the city.

If you’re planning a Key Largo wedding, here are some helpful things I’ve learned from photographing so many celebrations along this part of the Florida Keys.

Why Key Largo is such a great place for a wedding

Couples love Key Largo because it gives you that “island wedding” feel without having to fly or drive hours south. Since it’s the first island from the mainland, it’s super easy for guests to travel in, settle into their resort, and explore. The water is calm, the sunsets hit behind the palms, and the whole place feels like tropical luxury mixed with that laid-back Florida Keys charm.

It’s one of the most visited Keys because everything is close — great restaurants, snorkeling trips, sandbars, fishing charters, live-music bars, and plenty of spots to watch the sky turn warm and pastel at sunset.

Beautiful Wedding Venues in Key Largo

Baker’s Cay Resort

One of my absolute favorites. Baker’s Cay is made for couples who love romance, nature, and a lush tropical vibe — quiet pathways, palms everywhere, hammocks by the water, and a soft light that photographs beautifully all day long. It has intimate ceremony locations and amazing backdrops for portraits.

Ocean Reef Club

Technically still in Key Largo, Ocean Reef has a private-community feel and is beautiful if you’re planning something more elegant and tucked away. It’s an option couples choose when they want something quiet and exclusive.

Even small gatherings photograph beautifully here — intimate weddings, micro-weddings, and elopements all look amazing with the natural scenery, soft light, and shoreline views.

What it’s like working with me in Key Largo

Since I’m here constantly, I know the area well — the light, the shaded spots for portraits, the corners where we can get romantic photos without rush, and the timing that works best around the sun.

My editing style is clean, modern, and true-to-color with a soft fine-art touch. I love documenting the connection, the candid moments, and the feeling of your day. And since Key Largo is so close to home, I can easily customize timelines, add extra coverage, or help you plan the flow of the day.
