An Islander Resort Wedding in Islamorada: Stephanie & Brad’s Big Day

If I could sum up Stephanie and Brad’s wedding at The Islander Resort in Islamorada in just a few words, it would be laid-back luxury with a big dose of love.

This tropical gem in the Florida Keys made it possible for their entire day—getting ready, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception—to happen all in one stunning spot. No hopping around town. Just good vibes, ocean views, and a whole lotta love.

Puppies, pajamas, and a perfect start to the day

Let’s talk about the MVPs of the morning: Stephanie’s two pups. They may not have stuck around for the ceremony, but they made their mark during the getting-ready part of the day—tail wags and puppy cuddles included. I’m guessing you can picture it: Stephanie, in her robe, surrounded by her mom, her sister, and two very happy pups stealing everyone’s attention (and maybe a few treats). It was the sweetest start to a perfect day. Spoiler alert? It absolutely was.

The pups weren’t just there for cuddles though. They also starred in the photos, and oh my gosh, those pictures turned out adorable. If you’ve ever thought about including your pets in your wedding photoshoot, let this be your sign to go for it. Whether they’re sitting sweetly or being absolute chaos, they’ll add so much personality to your day.

What I loved most about Stephanie’s morning is that she skipped the traditional bridal party and kept it intimate. It was all about family and those low-stress, heartfelt moments. And of course, that shone through in the photos. Have a look!

A Timeless Look for a Timeless Day

Stephanie knew exactly what she wanted for her wedding style—timeless elegance. Her bouquet? A perfect bunch of all-white blooms, including soft roses and a touch of greenery. It felt classic and fresh without trying too hard.

And can we take a second to talk about her dress? Stephanie absolutely glowed in a sleek, satin gown with the prettiest simple straps. It had the kind of understated beauty that makes you do a double-take. No frills, no fuss—just pure elegance that let her shine. Paired with a clean low bun and that natural bridal glow, she looked like she walked straight out of a magazine.

The Sweetest First Look

One of my favorite parts of the day? Stephanie’s first look with her dad. Cue all the tears (mine included). There’s nothing like seeing a dad’s face light up when he sees his little girl as a bride. It’s emotional, it’s sweet, and it’s a moment you never forget.

And before the ceremony, Stephanie and Brad shared a private first touch. No peeking—just hands held, tears wiped, and hearts full. They both got a little emotional, and honestly, it felt like something straight out of a movie.

It’s moments like these that make weddings so special. After all, it’s not about a perfect timeline or flawless details. It’s about creating memories that tug at your heartstrings every time you look back. (Although I wouldn’t say no to a perfect timeline too!)

Destination vibes just a drive away

Now, here’s the fun part: even though Stephanie and Brad live in Fort Lauderdale, their Islander Resort wedding in Islamorada still had all the destination wedding feels. Friends, family, and coworkers made the drive down to the Keys to celebrate with them.

The energy? Pure excitement. You could tell how much love surrounded Stephanie and Brad because the dance floor was packed later that night, and every single person was so genuinely happy to be there. The mix of tropical vibes and familiar faces made the day feel like the perfect blend of vacation and home.

I do, with the ocean as their witness

If you ask me, I think there’s no better way to say “I do” than with the ocean waves dancing in the background.

The ceremony? A beautiful Christian service right by the water. With the ocean sparkling behind them, they said their “I dos” surrounded by the people who love them most. There’s just something about that Keys breeze and the sound of the waves that makes every moment feel extra magical.

And can we take a second for that view? I could photograph ceremonies here forever. The combination of natural beauty and heartfelt vows made this part of the day so unforgettable.

Sunsets, palm trees, + that golden-hour perfection

Cocktail hour was where we got down to business with photos—and oh my gosh, The Islander Resort delivered. We had ocean views, swaying palms, and that golden light that hits just right.

When it came time for Stephanie and Brad’s bride and groom portraits, the vibe was all about romance with a modern edge. Stephanie’s sleek satin gown and flowing veil were the perfect blend of classic elegance and timeless style, while details like Brad’s sharp black suit and Stephanie’s chic sunglasses gave their photos that effortlessly cool feel. Between golden-hour strolls and candid moments on the beach, their portraits were equal parts classic, fresh, and totally unforgettable.

By the time we made it to the pier for sunset, the skies turned into cotton-candy magic, and I swear we could’ve stayed there all night.

But one thing I absolutely loved? After photos, Stephanie and Brad took a few minutes to just be. They had time to breathe, laugh, and soak it all in before heading to their reception. Those quiet in-between moments? They’re the real MVPs.

Under twinkle lights and tropical skies

A quick shoutout to The Islander Resort—this place has recently been remodeled, and let me tell you, it’s gorgeous. The mix of modern updates with that old-Florida charm makes it the ultimate spot for couples looking for tropical vibes without leaving the state. (And the fact that they’re also pet-friendly? Say no more!)

Guests laughed, danced, and celebrated under twinkle lights and the soft glow of the Florida sunset. It was the kind of night you wish would never end—the perfect mix of relaxed and joyful.
