Laura and Abraham traveled all the way in from Boston for their destination wedding at Cheeca Lodge & Spa in Islamorada!
This bride and groom are so deeply in love and so focused on each other. It’s not always easy to freely express how you feel toward your partner in front of the camera. Especially on your wedding day! Wedding day nerves are unavoidable and it will more than likely be your first time having professional photos taken. Those elements paired with your guests looking on can make it hard to just be natural in each other’s arms. But Laura and Abraham were so at ease with each other and laid back. They were so focused on their love for one another that being in front of the camera was second nature to them.
Their wedding at Cheeca Lodge & Spa in Islamorada was a fun day filled with joyful guests and unforgettable moments. Cheeca lodge is a luxury resort in the Florida keys. The atmosphere is so inviting and open, and it has that laid-back vibe that the Florida Keys is known for.Â

Laura and Abraham decided to host their wedding day outdoors under the Florida sun. Their ceremony was held at the site of the two leaning palm trees. The tropical trees perfectly framed their union and served as a natural wedding arbor. After they said I do, they made their way down the aisle as husband and wife to a miniature beach ball toss from their guests. It was such a fun moment and a unique way to celebrate their marriage while pulling inspiration from their location!
After they were announced, Laura and Abraham celebrated with a private champagne toast. From there, I spent some time with them to capture their wedding day portraits. We walked down to where the sea meets the sand. And of course, we took a stroll on the beautiful dock of Cheeca Lodge. The dock stretches all the way out into the blue-green waters of the Florida Keys. As we shot their portraits, the sun began to set in a gorgeous pink hue. This created an extraordinary backdrop behind Laura and Abraham, accenting their wedding portraits.
